Dream Tournament for Prado Gomez and Andoin Amengual: Double Victory in Alhaurín de la Torre

Winning in your home country is a wonderful feeling, but doing so in two draws at the same FIP Promises Tour event is even more special. Just ask the young Spanish pairing of Ainara Andoin Amengual and Valeria Prado Gomez, who last weekend claimed victory in both the Under 16 and Under 18 categories at the FIP Promises Diputación De Málaga, held in Alhaurín de la Torre (Spain). In the first final, they defeated the No. 1 seeds, Fabiola Polvillo and Gema Calvo Perez, in two sets, winning 6-2 6-0. In the second, the champions overcame Daniela Jurado Cerezo and Claudia Iniesta Sanchez 6-1 6-1. Throughout the tournament, the two players showcased their talent and ability to dominate at every stage of the competition: they did not drop a single set to their opponents and, across both draws, lost just 17 games in total.

“We achieved a double victory at this tournament!” said Prado Gomez after their triumph. “We are really pleased with the high level we showed throughout all the matches in the two categories we played. Ainara and I are looking forward to everything the future holds. You are amazing, both on and off the court.” Andoin Amengual also reflected on the outstanding results achieved over the weekend: “After playing so many tough, high-level matches, we managed to become Under 16 and Under 18 champions. Congratulations to our opponents. I really like the team we have built. Now we have to keep training for what lies ahead. Thank you, Valeria, and thank you to your family and friends for this incredible week. Personally, I am very happy with the level we showed throughout the tournament.”
