Fernández Lancha-Perino in the spotlight. Prins-De Kroon their main rivals in Westerbork

Winning the men’s FIP Bronze Westerbork is the objective with which the tournament’s No. 1 seeds, Andres Fernández Lancha and Denis Perino, will arrive in the Netherlands. The former triumphed at the FIP Bronze Isla de la Palma this year, while the latter is seeking his first title of the year on the CUPRA FIP Tour. Last June, Perino was a finalist at the FIP Gold in Shanghai. Lifting the winners’ trophy will not be easy for this pair, as there are other strong duos in the draw, above all the Dutch pairing of Julian Prins-Youp De Kroon. The home pair have already won two events on the circuit this year: the FIP Bronze Prishtina (Kosovo) and Lotto (Poland). Prins and De Kroon will be looking to lift the winners’ trophy in front of their home crowd.

The Spanish duo of Pablo Pastor Landaburu and Luis Oliver Artigas will also be worth watching in Westerbork. They won the FIP Bronze in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, this year and were joint finalists at the FIP Bronze events in London and Dakar. Also among the pairs to watch are Sten Richters-Albin Olsson, Bram Meijer-Menno Nolten and Douglas Rutgersson-Santino Giuliani. The main draw of the tournament will begin on Friday 28 August and conclude on Sunday, when the semi-finals and final will be played.
