The Brazilian pair Maasz-Merzdorf claim a double in Curitiba

Winning two titles in two different categories and taking top honours in their home country is a special achievement. Brazilian players Mateus Maasz and Teodoro Merzdorf know this well, having become champions in the two draws contested at the FIP Promises Curitiba IV over the weekend: Under 16 and Under 14. In the former, the two Brazilian NextGen talents defeated Enrico Sorbello-Samuel Ientz in the title match (6-3 6-4). The two pairs had already faced each other in the previous stage of the tournament, with the eventual champions also coming out on top after a closely contested match (4-6 6-4 10-8). In the Under 16 category, Maasz-Merzdorf defeated Candido Cardoso-Nico Zanatta in the final (6-3 6-1).
