Celebration for Graupera: first CUPRA FIP Tour title of his career arrives in Viña del Mar

VIÑA DEL MAR – The weekend that has just come to an end in Chile is one that 2008-born Antonio Graupera will never forget. The young Argentine talent, playing alongside Horacio Diaz, claimed the first title of his career on the CUPRA FIP Tour. The two champions lifted the winners’ trophy of FIP Bronze Viña del Mar after defeating Mauricio Rivero-Manu Gayone in the final in two sets, 6-4 7-6. In the semi-finals, they had overcome the No. 1 seeds, Juampi Pablo Dametto and Luciano Puppo, 6-4 6-4.

While Graupera celebrated his first triumph on the circuit, for Diaz the title won in Chile was his third of the year (and of his career), following his victories at the FIP Bronze events in Santa Maria (Brazil) and Asuncion (Paraguay). In the first, he triumphed alongside fellow Argentine Santino Contreras, while the second victory came with Argentine Leonardo Yob.
