Dubai crowns Lacamoire-Ronco: a strong performance over the weekend

DUBAI – More than three months later his major success at the FIP Gold in Shanghai, Julian Lacamoire has claimed the title at the FIP Bronze Damac Dubai. The Argentine, partnering Adrian Ronco, became champion at this CUPRA FIP Tour event after defeating the tournament’s No. 1 seeds Pablo Sanchez-Ignacio Archieri in a closely contested final decided in the third set, 6-7 7-6 6-3. Ronco had already won another title on the circuit this year, at the FIP Bronze Astorga. “It was a weekend in which we kept improving and managed to achieve our goal,” said Lacamoire. “Thanks to my entire training team and to everyone who came to watch the match. I really enjoyed this experience. Now we will continue working for everything that lies ahead.”

In the women’s draw, the title went to Angelina Neizvestnaya-Gimena Sol Perez. After defeating the No. 2 seeds Patri Ribeiro-Mafalda Marques 6-3 6-1 in the semi-finals, the champions overcame Costanca Gorito-Martina Minelli in the final (4-6 6-2 6-4). Neizvestnaya has won two other titles this year, at the FIP Bronze events in Jakarta and Phuket. “Sol, thank you for sharing the court with me at this tournament and for achieving our goal. I enjoyed every moment,” said Neizvestnaya. “A special thank you to everyone who came to support me, cheered me on and stayed by my side until the very last moment. Having so many people there with me and sharing the emotions, the tension and, finally, the happiness made everything even more meaningful.”
