Day2. French celebrations at Roland Garros: after Fonteny, Leygue and Guichard also win. Today, the big names take centre stage

Timeo Fonteny gave the Roland Garros crowd the first French joy in the main draw of the Premier Padel Alpine Paris Major, but the celebrations for the home players were not over. Two more victories came on Philippe-Chatrier: Thomas Leygue, alongside Jesus Moya, followed up their run through qualifying by also eliminating David Gala and Enzo Jensen (7-6 6-4), while in the evening Dylan Guichard, partnering Belgian Clement Geens, also secured a second-round place with a 6-0 6-2 victory over Santi Pineda and Javi Ruiz. Fonteny (against José Jimenez and Alex Arroyo) and Guichard will return to centre court, on a day featuring no fewer than 28 matches, with Arturo Coello and Agustin Tapia opening the programme at 12 against Tino Libaak and Gonza Alfonso. Ale Galan and Fede Chingotto will close the day against Arnau Ayats and Emilio Chamero.

WOMEN The women’s tournament will also get into full swing today, with 12 second-round matches sending the winners through to the round of 16, where the top four seeds are already waiting. On Court 7, after the extraordinary emotions of last Sunday in Madrid, Ale Salazar will return to action, partnering Aranzazu Osoro against Marta Borrero and Teresa Navarro.
