From Paris’ 81,000 (+26,5%) to Buenos Aires’ record, from the boom in Rome and Milan to Madrid: Padel’s show is smashing attendance records

An impressive sight. Paris once again responded in the best possible way to the call of the world’s Padel stars. Images of a sold-out Philippe-Chatrier during the finals of the Alpine Paris Major have travelled around the world, with the blue court now a familiar sight at one of the world’s sporting temples, Roland Garros, where tennis is usually played on clay. But the fifth edition of the Premier Padel Major also smashed a record: a total of 81,000 spectators came to the Bois de Boulogne to enjoy the show from Arturo Coello and Agustin Tapia, Ari Sanchez and Andrea Ustero (the tournament winners), and more generally all the strongest pairs on the planet. That represents an extraordinary increase of 17,000 (+26,5%) spectators compared with the 64,000 who attended the Paris Major in 2025.

Parque Roca, Buenos Aires

A sold-out Chatrier, with around 15,000 fans on finals day, came close to the historic record set last May for the semi-finals of the Buenos Aires P1, when as many as 16,920 spectators filled the stands at Parque Roca. These are the special atmospheres being created in arenas around the world, whether outdoors or indoors: just one week ago, more than 14,000 spectators attended the Madrid P1 in a single day, while the Malaga P1 in July also surpassed 10,000 spectators in one day. Similar attendances are expected for the Finals, which will be held in December at Palau Sant Jordi in Barcelona (tickets are already on sale). And, staying with the Majors, the Foro Italico provided the perfect setting for last June’s finals in Rome, with 9,000 spectators filling the stands of the Centrale. In a country like Italy, attendance figures for the Milan P1, scheduled for October, continue to soar, with more than 35,000 spectators attending the 2025 edition at the Allianz Cloud, a venue with a capacity of around 5,500.

Playing in sold-out stadiums and indoor arenas is a trend that characterises Premier Padel tournaments around the world: more than 600,000 spectators attended matches in person across the 23 tournaments in 2025, in addition to the fans who fill the clubs hosting CUPRA FIP Tour events every week and those who follow national team competitions. Wherever there is Padel, there is a show, both on and off the court.
