Puppo, Kviatkovski and the others: argentines lead the title race in San Luis

Argentine talent arrives in Mexico for the FIP Silver San Luis. All eight players from the top four seeded pairs come from this country. Leading the men’s draw is the pairing of Luciano Puppo and Juampi Dametto: this season, the former won the FIP Silver in Joinville with Maximo Maldonado, while the latter claimed the titles at the FIP Bronze events in Viña del Mar and Copiapo, Chile, on both occasions alongside Felipe Calleja. He will also be targeting victory in San Luis, partnering Mateo Alvarez in search of his first career title on the CUPRA FIP Tour. Also worth watching is the duo of Kevin Kviatkovski and Mirko Kloster (3). Kviatkovski arrives in Mexico on the back of last week’s victory at the FIP Bronze Phoenix in Arizona. In 2026, he also claimed the title at the FIP Bronze Jakarta held last July (and had previously been a finalist, also in Indonesia, at the FIP Bronze Banten). Also in contention are Francisco Maier, who won the FIP Bronze Castro this year with Santino Contreras, and Thiago Pinto (3).

Home-grown talent will also be looking to make an impact at the Mexican stop of the CUPRA FIP Tour. There are 21 Mexican players in the field, with seven pairs made up entirely of Mexican players. The main draw will begin on Thursday 10 September and conclude on Saturday 12 September, when the semi-finals and final will be played.
