DOHA – Education as a key element in supporting the growth of Padel worldwide. During the FIP World Cup in Doha, the International Padel Federation presented the FIP Academy development programme for 2027 and beyond to the National Federations, outlining the next steps in a project focused on professional qualifications, research and innovation.
Following the launch of Level 0 for coach education and Level 1 for referees, FIP Academy is preparing for a new phase of development. The launch of Level 1 for coaches is scheduled for February 2027, followed by the next level during the year, while Levels 3 and 4 will progressively complete the international specialisation pathway. Two major new initiatives will also be presented before summer 2027: the FIP Academy methodology, which will establish common international training criteria and standards, and FIP Lab, a new project dedicated to research, innovation and the development of knowledge applied to Padel.
The programme also includes the development of new initiatives, such as FIP Kids and FIP Women, and the gradual expansion of training and certification pathways for referees and other technical officials. The role of the National Federations was also central to the presentation in Doha, with their cooperation set to be essential in promoting and consolidating the education model across different countries.
“You are our voice within each individual national Padel community. Thanks to your experience and knowledge of the Padel landscape in your countries, and with your cooperation, we are confident that this project will move forward very quickly”, said FIP Sport Director Guillermo Alcaide during the presentation, which was also attended by FIP World Cup Supervisor José Luis Martinez and Jorge Bellmont. Through its three pillars – Coaching, Officiating and FIP Lab – FIP Academy aims to strengthen skills and national sports structures, contributing to the international growth of Padel and its path towards the Olympic Movement.
