Valenzuela targets a second title of the season in Espoo: aiming for victory with Dominguez
November 3, 2026
ESPOO – Finland is preparing to host another stop on the CUPRA FIP Tour: the FIP Bronze Esc Padel. Leading the women’s draw is world number 53 Daiara Valenzuela, who will compete alongside Ana Dominguez. The top seeds are aiming for the title after reaching the quarter-finals at the FIP Gold in Turin. Victory in Espoo would give Valenzuela her second title of the year, having triumphed at a FIP Silver event in August. Their main challengers for the title are Ana Varo and Ainize Santamaria (2). Varo has won three CUPRA FIP Tour titles in her career, while Santamaria has claimed six, most recently at the FIP Bronze Pakistan in early October. Also among the leading contenders in Finland are Lucia Garcia-Carlotta Casali (3) and Matilde Minelli-Carla Mesa (4).
There is also considerable anticipation surrounding the men’s main draw. The top seeds are Alberto Garcia Trabanco, winner of the FIP Bronze QNB Cup Antalya at the end of October, and Emilio Chamero, who has won seven CUPRA FIP Tour events in his career (four FIP Bronze and three FIP Silver titles), most recently at the FIP Bronze in Izmir. The second-seeded pair arrive in Finland following their victory at the FIP Bronze in Tashkent: Alberto Garcia Jimenez and Christian Medina Murphy. The Spanish pair Guillermo Fernandez-Alejandro Merino (3) and the Italian duo Lorenzo Di Giovanni-Giuseppe Fino (4) will also be looking to play leading roles in Finland. The main draw of the tournament will begin on Thursday and conclude on Saturday 7 November.
