Phuket, Fitó-Araus aiming for the hat-trick

After two consecutive wins in Indonesia over the past two weeks, Carla Fitó and Patricia Araus are back in action this weekend, this time at the FIP Bronze in Phuket (Thailand), where the CUPRA FIP Tour returns after the November 2023 Promotion event. The two Spaniards lead the women’s draw and receive a bye that sends them directly to Saturday’s quarterfinals. Just behind them are Daiara Valenzuela and Nika Sluzhiteleva, who will face China’s Sirui He and Japan’s Chifumi Sato in the opening round.

In the men’s draw, players from 26 countries will be represented. Topping the entry list at the Blue Tree Oasis complex are French duo Dylan Guichard (world number 131 and France’s fourth-highest ranked player) and Maxime Joris (ranked 159). On the opposite side of the draw are Sergio Icardo and Francisco Jurado representing the United Arab Emirates, while the third-seeded team is the Italian duo Daniele Cattaneo and Federico Galli.
