Martina Calvo, who is not yet 18, has been the big surprise of the Qatar Airways Premier Padel Tour 2025. After achieving her first results of the season paired with Aranzazu Osoro, the young Spanish is now working her magic with a legend like Alejandra Salazar. Beating Andrea Ustero and Sofia Araujo, seeded number 4 in the Premier Padel Rotterdam P1, with the score of 6-3 6-4, Calvo and Salazar qualified for the semifinals in the bottom half of the draw, where they will face Paula Josemaria and Ari Sanchez (6-2 6-3 over Marta Ortega and Tamara Icardo) at 6 p.m. The other semifinal, starting at 12 p.m., will see Delfi Brea and Gemma Triay (6-3 6-1 over Marina Guinart and Veronica Virseda) face Claudia Jensen and Ale Alonso, who defeated Lara Arruabarrena and Julieta Bidahorria 6-3 6-1.

 

MEN While the women’s tournament saw the number 6 and 7 pairs reach the semifinals alongside the top two, in the men’s draw, the top four seeded pairs will battle it out for the title. The first to take the court will be Arturo Coello and Agustin Tapia against Mike Yanguas and Coki Nieto, who defeated Guerrero/Gonzalez (6-2 6-3) and Sanz/Navarro (6-3 1-6 6-3) respectively in the quarterfinals. Next, in the match that will close the day, Fede Chingotto and Ale Galan will face Franco Stupaczuk and Juan Lebron: the Dusseldorf champions beat Javi Leal and Lucas Bergamini 7-6 6-2, while ‘Stupa’ and Lebron did the same (6-1 7-6) versus Sanyo Gutierrez and Gonza Alfonso, who will play with different partners from the P1 in Milano.
