Ariana Sánchez and Paula Josemaría brought their legendary partnership to a close in the way they know best: with a victory. The Spanish duo secured third place at the Qatar Airways Premier Padel Finals after defeating Sofia Araújo and Andrea Ustero in straight sets, 7-5 and 7-6.

 

Paula Josemaría was the standout offensive force, finishing the match with 27 winners that proved decisive in a hard-fought contest. Returns and the struggle to hold serve defined the encounter, with a remarkable 28 break-point opportunities across the match, 14 of which were converted. In total, more than half of the games were won from the return (14 of 25).

 

This third-place finish marks the end of the most decorated partnership in women’s padel history. Ari and Paula close the chapter on five seasons together, during which they captured 44 titles and spent 758 days as the world No.1 pair. Their farewell was filled with emotion, tears and an outpouring of affection, reflected in every gesture of their final dance together on court.

 

In the men’s draw, third place went to the ‘Superpibes’, Franco Stupaczuk and Martín Di Nenno, who prevailed after nearly two hours of high-intensity action against Jon Sanz and Paquito Navarro, winning 7-6 and 6-3.

 

Stupaczuk led the way with an outstanding 30 winners, spearheading the Argentine pair’s offensive output while combining it with their trademark defensive resilience. Although Navarro and Sanz finished the match with three more winners than their opponents, it was the duo coached by Cristian Gutiérrez who proved superior overall.
