Finland, Another big win for Hernandez-Collado

Two exceptional weeks for the pair currently in outstanding form, with strong prospects for further progress. Pol Hernandez and Guille Collado celebrate their second consecutive title after the one won in Dubai, this time at the FIP Silver ESP Padel in Espoo, Finland. A tournament played with great consistency, without dropping a set until the closely contested final against the top seeds Tolito Aguirre and Alex Arroyo, defeated 6-3 6-7 6-4. “A very hard-fought final against a great pair like Tolito and Alex. An incredible, heart-stopping match,” commented Hernandez. “Guille, the level you are playing at is incredible — let’s keep going this way.” “An incredible tournament. Pol, you are very strong, let’s keep working like this,” replied his partner, with whom he will return to the court this week at the P2 in Gijon.

In the women’s event, celebrations went to Noa Canovas and Laia Rodriguez, dominant throughout the tournament, which they won without dropping a set and conceding only 14 games to their opponents. The two Spaniards defeated Sandra Bellver and Noemi Aguilar 6-1 6-1 in the final, securing their second title together on the CUPRA FIP Tour after the FIP Silver Oporto last year. “Very happy with the level we produced during the week,” said Canovas after the victory. Like Hernandez-Collado, the women’s winners will also compete in Gijon, where they will open against Jessica Castelló and Lorena Rufo.
