The draws. Coello and Tapia return to defend the title

From Newgiza to Brussels, from one P2 to another. Following the excitement of the week in Egypt, the Qatar Airways Premier Padel Tour moves to Belgium. At Gare Maritime – Tour & Taxis, everything is set for the third edition of the P2, which will award 600 points in the FIP ranking to the winning pairs.

MEN After missing the Newgiza P2, Arturo Coello and Agustin Tapia return to action to defend the title they won in 2025: the top seeds will enter the competition in the round of 16 of a 28-pair draw, facing either two qualifiers or Tolito Aguirre and Alex Arroyo. Fede Chingotto and Ale Galan, champions in Egypt and winners of their first title together in Brussels in 2024, will begin their campaign against Juanlu Esbri and Alex Ruiz or José Jimenez and Javi Garcia, whom they defeated in last week’s quarter-finals. A Belgian derby between wild cards will take place in the first round: Clement Geens (partnering French player Dylan Guichard) against Isaac Huysveld (with Miguel Lamperti), with the winners set to face Franco Stupaczuk and Mike Yanguas. Potential quarter-final match-ups: Coello/Tapia (1) vs Nieto/Sanz (6), Gonzalez/Di Nenno (7) vs Stupaczuk/Yanguas (3), Lebron/Augsburger (4) vs Bergamini/Garrido (8), Guerrero/Navarro (5) vs Chingotto/Galan (2).

WOMEN In the women’s draw, Paula Josemaria and Ari Sanchez won the title last year. This year, Josemaria will partner Bea Gonzalez and arrives after victories in Miami and Newgiza: their opening match will be against Virginia Riera and Teresa Navarro or Carolina Orsi and Patty Llaguno. While Josemaria and Gonzalez are seeded second, the top seeds in the 24-pair draw — with the eight seeded pairs entering directly in the round of 16 — will be Delfi Brea and Gemma Triay, who will face Marta Barrera and Jimena Velasco or Belgian wild cards Pysson/Boeykens. Potential quarter-final match-ups: Brea/Triay (1) vs Salazar/Alonso (7), Icardo/Jensen (5) vs Sanchez/Ustero (3), Fernandez/Araujo (4) vs Guinart/Virseda (8), Ortega/Calvo (6) vs Josemaria/Gonzalez (2).
