Day1. Belgium celebrates with Geens. Gonzalez and Di Nenno make a strong start

The draw for the Lotto Brussels Premier Padel P2 delivered a Belgian derby to the crowd at the Gare Maritime – Tour & Taxis, guaranteeing a home player in the round of 16. Clement Geens, number 94 in the FIP ranking, came out on top, partnering Frenchman Dylan Guichard to defeat compatriot Isaac Huysveld, who was playing alongside Miguel Lamperti. The 6-3 7-6 victory sends Geens and Guichard through to face the number 3 seeds Franco Stupaczuk and Mike Yanguas. Momo Gonzalez and Martin Di Nenno bounced back from their first-round defeat at the Newgiza P2 with a 6-3 6-2 win over Pablo Lijo and Pablo Garcia, while Juanlu Esbri and Alex Ruiz secured a meeting with Fede Chingotto and Ale Galan.

A total of 14 matches are scheduled today: the men’s first round will be completed and all eight matches of the women’s draw will be played, ahead of the debut of the top pairs in the world, scheduled for Thursday.
