The NextGen of padel lit up the weekend, delivering high-level competition at the Egyptian stage of the FIP Promises Tour held in Cairo. In the FIP Promises Athleticans II, the sport’s young protagonists competed across seven draws – four men’s and three women’s – showcasing their talent.
Javier Bolumar Orti and Hassan Adel Waly became Under 18 champions thanks to their victory in the final against Mohamed El-Hamamy and Fernando Pastrana Sampayo (6-4 7-6). In the same women’s category, the pair Hana Elshalkany and Salma Elzayat claimed the title. In the boys’ Under 16, Martin Mounir and Zain Elbialy secured the title by defeating top seeds Youssef Elsherbini and Yassin Omar Youssef Abohamed in the final. In the corresponding girls’ age group, Lily Wael and Jaya Omar were crowned champions in Egypt. Nabil Abouhamda and Aley Eino lifted the boys’ Under 14 trophy after beating Ezz Hussein Hassan Ahmed and Ali Mohamed Tahseen in the final (6-1 6-4).
This tournament was held in the week following the P2 in Newgiza, confirming the importance of this country in the development of padel. In addition, Egypt will host two further major events for the NextGen: the FIP Junior Africa Padel Cup 2026 and the FIP Africa Padel Cup 2027.
