  • FIP President Luigi Carraro: “An event that confirms the extraordinary growth of the Asian youth movement”. For Indonesian Padel Association President Galih Dimuntur Kartasasmita, it is “the dawn of a new era”

Padel NextGen continues its exciting global journey. Following the announcement of the four FIP Junior Continental Cups scheduled for 2026, the International Padel Federation has selected Jakarta, Indonesia, to host the second edition of the FIP Junior Asia Padel Cup, scheduled from 7 to 14 November 2026.

Asia therefore confirms itself as one of the strategic areas for global Padel, with an increasing number of tournaments, national federations and steadily growing youth participation. The event in Jakarta represents a further step forward for the movement across the continent and reinforces FIP’s commitment to investing concretely in the development of young talents worldwide.

PROGRAMME The tournament will be divided into two phases. From 7 to 9 November, the boys’ qualifying competition will take place, while from 10 to 14 November the boys’ and girls’ Final 8 events will be staged to award the continental titles. The competition therefore builds on the success of the first edition in Bahrain in 2024, which concluded with Japan’s triumph ahead of the United Arab Emirates and Lebanon. This year’s event will mark another step forward in the growth of the competition with the introduction of the girls’ tournament.

The best Under 14, Under 16 and Under 18 talents will take to the court: for the players, the event will represent a top-level competitive stage, but not only that. In line with the international vision of the International Padel Federation, the FIP Junior Asia Padel Cup will also provide an opportunity to encourage dialogue between different cultures, create new connections among young people from across Asia and promote universal values such as inclusion, friendship, fair play and healthy competition.

A GROWING COUNTRY The awarding of the event to Indonesia underlines the central role of the country in the continental and global development of Padel. According to data from the FIP Research & Data Analysis Department, there are 400,000 amateur players, while over the last six months the number of courts has increased by 186%, bringing the total close to 1,000 across the country. Since 2025, Indonesia has been part of the CUPRA FIP Tour calendar and this year, on the road to the FIP Junior Asia Padel Cup, the capital will also host another event dedicated to the NextGen with the first Indonesian tournament of the FIP Promises Tour, scheduled for the second week of July.

CARRARO “In only its second edition, the FIP Junior Asia Padel Cup is already a landmark event for youth Padel in Asia and perfectly represents the FIP vision for the international development of the NextGen”, said FIP President Luigi Carraro, who added: “The awarding of the 2026 edition to Jakarta confirms the extraordinary growth of the Asian youth movement, with more and more young players, federations and countries involved in our sport. Investing in boys and girls means building the future of Padel: through events such as this, we aim to offer the best continental talents a high-level sporting and human experience, capable of combining competition, inclusion, friendship and sharing among different cultures”.

INDONESIAN PADEL ASSOCIATION “Witness the dawn of a new era as Asia’s youngest stars come together in Jakarta, Indonesia”, said Galih Dimuntur Kartasasmita, President of the Indonesian Padel Association.
