Thailand a ‘lucky charm’: Gallardo and Perez win again in Phangan

From Samui to Phangan. Alba Gallardo and Alba Perez continue their success in Thailand, securing a second consecutive victory in the Asian country, where they claimed another FIP Bronze title over the weekend. The top seeds in the women’s draw defeated the No. 3 seeds, Spain’s Carmen Azcoitia and France’s Camille Sireix, in the final (6-1 3-6 6-1). Perez now moves on to 11 CUPRA FIP Tour titles, while her partner reaches four titles.

The men’s title was claimed by the Portuguese pair Antonio Luque and João Caiano — following their semi-final run in Samui — after a 6-4 7-5 victory over Vazquez/Martinez. For Luque, silver medallist with the Portuguese national team at the 2025 FIP Euro Padel Cup, this is his sixth CUPRA FIP Tour title, while for Caiano it marks his first career victory. “So many hours spent in airports, flights, hotels and, above all, a lot of time away from family and friends,” he said after the win. “It has certainly not been easy and it took time to achieve it, but the most important thing is that it has arrived: my first international title!”.
