Sintes-Santigosa defeat Castaño-Gil and become champions in Sweden

A great victory in Sweden for the pair of Marc Sintes and Dani Santigosa. The two claimed the title at the FIP Silver Höganäs thanks to their win in the final against Xisco Gil and Manu Castaño (6-3, 6-1). In the semi-finals, they had defeated the tournament’s top seeds, Gonzalo Rubio and Javi Ruiz, in straight sets (7-5, 6-2). None of the champions’ opponents managed to take a set from them throughout the tournament.

In the women’s draw, the title went to the tournament’s fourth seeds, Noemi Aguilar and Leti Manquillo. The champions secured victory by defeating Alix Collombon and Ksenia Sharifova in the final: after winning the opening set in a tie-break, they lost the second set 2-6 before claiming the third 6-2. For Aguilar and Manquillo, this was their second title of the year on the CUPRA FIP Tour, following their triumph at the FIP Bronze Syracuse in mid-March. “Champions in Höganäs,” said Manquillo after the victory. “I am very happy with the progress we have made together. Now we are heading to Rome.” Both players will take part in the BNL Italy Major Premier Padel in Rome, where the men’s champions will also compete.
