Plenty of talent in Chisinau as NextGen momentum takes Moldova

The FIP Promises Tour made its first-ever stop in Moldova, turning Chisinau into a new international stage for padel’s NextGen. Over the weekend, the sport’s most promising young talents delivered strong performances at an event that marked another historic step in the international growth of padel.

 

The tournament’s official opening ceremony was attended by several institutional figures: Maxim Potârniche (Member of Parliament and former national team footballer), Ion Ceban (Mayor of Chisinau) and Andrei Pavaloi (Head of the Directorate for Education, Youth and Sport). Their presence underlined the country’s strong commitment to the development of youth sport.

 

On court, young athletes impressed across all categories, from Under 14 to Under 18. The winners are as follows:

 

Boys’ Under 14: Moldova’s Davide Deviza and Seremet Sorin Ioan.

Boys’ Under 16: the Moldovan pair Matei Straista and Robert Todica.

Boys’ Under 18: Romanian Mihnea Ghiurca Anton and Spain’s Pablo Chacon Diaz.

Girls’ Under 16: Greece’s Plastira Gkreta alongside Moldova’s Nicoleta Bucur.

Girls’ Under 18: Romania’s Sofia Gabriela Sîrca and Moldova’s Ilinca Rosca.
