FIP Junior Africa Padel Cup: opening ceremony held in Alexandria for historic first edition
June 16, 2026
The first edition of the FIP Junior Africa Padel Cup was officially launched with the opening ceremony held in Alexandria, Egypt, ahead of the competition taking place from 17 to 20 June. For the first time, the African continent joins the International Padel Federation’s calendar of junior team competitions, a milestone achieved in collaboration with the Egyptian Padel Federation that further expands the global reach of Padel and the NextGen movement.
The opening ceremony brought together players, delegations and coaches from the participating nations, providing an initial opportunity for meeting and exchange before the start of competition. This was followed by the draw, which determined the structure of both the boys’ and girls’ tournaments.
Each participating nation will be represented in three age categories — Under 14, Under 16 and Under 18 — in both the boys’ and girls’ competitions. National team match-ups will involve all age groups, culminating on 20 June with the awarding of the first African continental titles.
The FIP Junior Africa Padel Cup represents an important step in the development of junior Padel and forms part of the FIP’s vision of promoting dialogue, cultural exchange and fair play. This pathway will continue in the years ahead: Egypt has already been confirmed as host of the FIP Africa Padel Cup 2027, reinforcing its central role in the development of the sport.
