NextGen ready to light up: five stops in one weekend

It will be a busy weekend for the NextGen of padel. The sport’s young talents will take to the courts in Zaragoza (Spain), Rome (Italy), Paris (France), Alexandria (Egypt) and Kyalami (South Africa).

 

The Spanish stop of the FIP Promises Tour will feature eight draws: four boys’ (Under 12, 14, 16 and 18) and four girls’ (Under 12, 14, 16 and 18). In the oldest boys’ age category, Javier Merino Nieto and Francisco Goncalvaes Da Silva are the top seeds. Also among the leading contenders are Gabriel Lara Morejon and Victor Escorihuela, along with Hugo Palomo and Marcos Sanchez Pestana. In the corresponding girls’ category, the title will be contested by the pairs Paula Gil Aguilar and Layla Marco Lasala, and Aina Etxebarria and Ruth Petit Segarra.

 

The FIP Promises Paris by Wme Sports will also feature eight draws across the Under 12, 14, 16 and 18 categories. Jaime Rodriguez and Mario Brocal Aviles lead the boys’ Under 16 draw. Also worth watching are the tournament’s second and third seeds, Ian Garcia Calvo and Sebastian Ferrer Reyes, and Mark Giulio Menotti and Jacopo Battilani respectively. The favourites for the girls’ Under 16 title are Ornella Beltramino and Carla Hernandez.

 

In Italy, the FIP Promises Sanremo Padel Experience Roma III will feature seven draws (boys’ Under 12, 14, 16 and 18, and girls’ Under 12, 14 and 16). Matteo Quatrana and Alessandro Zaccagnino are the top seeds in the oldest boys’ age category. The Italian pair will face strong competition in their bid for the title, led by Leon David Ruiz Shannon and Javier Garcia Caro. Matches will be played at Villa Pamphili Padel Club.

 

From Europe to Africa, the circuit dedicated to the sport’s young talents will also stop on the African continent. The FIP Promises Coalition in Kyalami, South Africa, will feature eight draws: boys’ and girls’ Under 12, 14, 16 and 18. In the boys’ Under 18 tournament, the competing pairs include Wasim Tayob and Muhammad Saley, Yusuf Mosam and Hamzah Khan Patel, and Dada Mikaeel and Finlay Harry Ferguson. In the girls’ Under 18 category, Tasiyah Gani and Aaliyah Hartnick will compete.

 

The NextGen of padel is also ready to shine in Egypt, where seven draws will be played (boys’ Under 12, 14, 16 and 18, and girls’ Under 14, 16 and 18). The favourites for the boys’ Under 16 title are Youssef Elsherbini and Yassin Omar Youssed. Also entered are Omar Nadim and Ali Mohamed Tahseen, along with Nadal Elkerm and Maher Motaz Amer.
