Portugal celebrated in front of the home crowd, but Spain also made its mark at the final FIP Promises event of July. In Coimbra, six draws crowned the NextGen champions, with young talents taking centre stage during an intense weekend at Star Padel.
One of the most anticipated results came in the Boys Under 16 draw, where Portuguese player Afonso De Almeida Lacerda, one of the standout performers at the recent FIP Junior Euro Padel Cup, lived up to expectations by winning the title alongside Eduardo Esteves Aniceto Do Carmo. In the Under 14 category, Felipe Morales and João Afonso Simões also celebrated success, having both represented Portugal at the continental team competition.
The Boys Under 18 title went instead to the Spanish pair Juan Carlos Gutierrez Guerrero and Manuel Ramirez Perez, while the Under 12 title was won by the Iberian-Portuguese duo formed by Mateo Garcia Los Reyes Rey-Cabarcos and Salvador Lima Condenso.
Finally, Spain completed a double in the girls’ draws: Patricia Murillo Prior and Violeta Oro Izquierdo claimed the Under 14 title, while Africa Pesado Garcia and Victoria Gonzalez Bravo won the Under 16 tournament.
