One week ago, in Romania, David Gala won the FIP Gold Bucharest alongside Enzo Jensen. The Spaniard then boarded a flight to Brazil, where he will now attempt an extraordinary double. Playing alongside Maxi Arce as the number 2 seeds, Gala defeated Alex Chozas and Juani De Pascual 6-2 6-3. Today, he will bid for his second consecutive title in the final against number 3 seeds José Diestro and Juanlu Esbri, who overturned the odds in the other semi-final by eliminating number 1 seeds Alex Arroyo and José Jimenez 6-4 3-6 6-4.

 

While the men’s final will start not before 12:00 local time (17:00 CEST), the women’s final will be played at 10:00. The match will feature the top two seeded pairs: Lorena Rufo and Jessica Castelló ended the run of Cristina Cirne and Julia Giusti Gomes, beating them 6-1 6-2, and will face Jimena Velasco and Raquel Eugenio (1), who defeated Anna Ortiz and Maria Laura Ferreyra 6-2 6-2.
