In the Netherlands the first of three tournaments in a row. Coello-Tapia and Brea-Triay defend their titles

Three Premier Padel tournaments in three weeks: two P2 events and one P1, with a total of 2,200 points on offer for the FIP Ranking and the FIP Race. The world padel season is entering its decisive phase, with three tournaments that could shape the standings ahead of the Barcelona Finals. It all starts in the Netherlands with the CUPRA Premier Padel P2 Rotterdam, followed by the P2 in Düsseldorf (Germany) and the P1 in Milan (Italy), with Arturo Coello, Agustin Tapia, Delfi Brea and Gemma Triay defending the titles they won last year at Rotterdam Ahoy.

 

MEN The major change in the draw is the presence of Paquito Navarro and Martin Di Nenno as the number 4 seeds. Their semi-final appearances in London and Paris earned them enough points to move ahead of Stupaczuk/Sanz and Nieto/Yanguas in the entry list. Coello and Tapia remain the number 1 seeds, with a tricky opening match against either Edu Alonso and Aimar Goñi or Alvaro Montiel and Dani Santigosa. For Fede Chingotto and Ale Galan (2), the round of 16 could be against David Gala and Enzo Jensen or wild cards Sten Richters and Albin Olsson. In the 28-pair draw, Juan Lebron and Leo Augsburger (3), as well as Navarro and Di Nenno, will also receive a bye into the round of 16. Potential quarter-finals: Coello/Tapia (1)-Guerrero/Leal (7), Gonzalez/Campagnolo (8)-Di Nenno/Navarro (4), Lebron/Augsburger (3)-Yanguas/Nieto (6), Stupaczuk/Sanz (5)-Chingotto/Galan (2).

 

WOMEN There will be 24 pairs in the women’s draw, with the eight seeded pairs making their debut on Thursday in the round of 16. Tamara Icardo will miss the tournament through injury, with Claudia Jensen partnering Claudia Escacena. Paula Josemaria and Bea Gonzalez are the number 2 seeds, while Ari Sanchez and Andrea Ustero, fresh from their triumph at the Paris Major, are in the top half of the draw alongside Brea and Triay. Potential quarter-finals: Brea/Triay (1)-Salazar/Osoro (7), Guinart-Alonso (6)-Sanchez/Ustero (3), Fernandez/Calvo (4)-Jensen/Escacena (8), Ortega/Araujo (5)-Josemaria/Gonzalez (2).
