October 8, 2026
POREČ, PARENZO – The CUPRA FIP Tour event in Croatia already has two leading contenders: Italy’s Giulia Dal Pozzo and Spain’s Nuria Rodriguez, the No. 1 seeds in the women’s draw at the FIP Silver Poreč Parenzo. The pair have achieved strong results on the Premier Padel circuit this season, reaching the semi-finals of the Rome Major and the Valladolid P2. Last weekend, they also reached the semi-finals of the FIP Gold Mediolanum Padel Cup in Perugia. Their objective in Croatia will be to win the title and head into next week’s Premier Padel P1 in Milan with the right momentum. Challenging them for the title will be a number of pairs, most notably the legendary Virginia Riera and Julieta Bidahorria, winners of the FIP Silver Houten and Nairobi in the final two events of September, as well as Raquel Piltcher-Christina-Styliani Ntanou and Marta Caparros-Agueda Perez.
The men’s event in Croatia will also feature a number of padel talents. Leading the field is Argentina’s No. 36 in the FIP Ranking, Tolito Aguirre, who won the FIP Silver in Texas at the end of August, partnering Pablo Garcia. In 2026, Aguirre reached the prestigious semi-finals of the Premier Padel P2 in Cancun. The No. 2 seeds are Rama Valenzuela and Xisco Gil. In mid-September, Valenzuela became champion at the FIP Silver in Utrecht, the Netherlands. Among the entries are Pedro Melendez-Dani Luna and Guillem Figuerola-Roberto Belmont. Also in the spotlight is the Dutch duo of Julian Prins-Youp De Kroon. The main draw of the tournament begins on Friday 9 October and concludes on Sunday 11 October.
