Melilla, another 150 points up for grabs in the Race for the Finals. Arce-Tello and Virseda-Fassio are the number 1 seeds, while Dal Pozzo-Rodriguez look to make up ground

Another step on the road to the Premier Padel Finals in Barcelona, with a further 150 points available in the FIP Race that could prove decisive in the battle for the last places at the season-ending event. Following Seville, Melilla hosts another FIP Gold tournament, where players are looking to keep their qualification hopes alive. In the 32-pair men’s draw, the number 1 seeds are Juan Tello and Maxi Arce, currently the third and first players outside the top 16 respectively (as things stand, Javi Leal would be the last player to qualify), followed in the entry list by Edu Alonso (18th) and Aimar Goñi. Jairo Bautista, currently 20th in the Race, will also be hoping to collect valuable points as he teams up with Lucas Bergamini. As things stand, only the top six players in the Race (Coello, Tapia, Galan, Chingotto, Augsburger and Lebron) are certain to be there, with the battle still wide open.

WOMEN In the 22-pair women’s tournament, the number 1 seeds will be Veronica Virseda (currently 16th in the Race) and Martina Fassio, who have already won the FIP Gold Mediolanum Padel Cup in Perugia. Like all the seeded pairs, they will start in the round of 16. Other contenders include Raquel Eugenio and Bea Caldera (the latter currently 20th, but just 240 points behind Virseda), as well as Nuria Rodriguez and Giulia Dal Pozzo, the number 4 seeds. They currently sit 18th and 19th respectively in the 2026 ranking of best results, which offers a direct route to the Palau Sant Jordi. The action at the Centro de Pádel Ciudad Autónoma de Melilla begins on Wednesday with the first round, while the finals will be played on Saturday.
