The CUPRA FIP Tour arrives in Maldives: Malé hosts the first tournament

MALÉ – Another page of history will be written this weekend as the CUPRA FIP Tour makes its debut in the Maldives, adding a new country to the global circuit. With the FIP Silver Women’s Padel Crossroads Maldives, scheduled to take place in Malé, the Maldives joins the list of countries hosting, or having already hosted, a CUPRA FIP Tour event in 2026, alongside many others, from Kosovo and Malta to Slovenia and Poland. Last week, the CUPRA FIP Tour made its debut in Uzbekistan, where the FIP Bronze Tashkent was held.

The highest-ranked player competing in Malé will be world No. 22 Nuria Rodriguez, who will partner Marta Talavan, with the pair seeded first. Rodriguez is enjoying a strong season: alongside Italy’s Giulia Dal Pozzo, she reached two semi-finals on the Premier Padel Tour (the Rome Major and Valladolid P2). Also among the leading entries are Nerea Guerra and Carla Fernandez, who have won 10 and nine CUPRA FIP Tour titles respectively during their careers. Other notable pairings include Eugenia Guimet-Maria Portillo and Ekaterina Nikitina-Ariadna Canellas. The main draw of this circuit event will begin on Wednesday, 4 November, and conclude on Sunday, 8 November, when the finals will be played.
