From Africa to Europe: all NextGen events

Five events in one weekend. The NextGen of padel returns to the court with stages of the Promises FIP Tour scheduled across Africa and Europe: Gran Canaria (Spain), Mérida (Spain), Trani (Italy), Vilamoura (Portugal) and Centurion (South Africa).

 

Matches of the FIP Promises Bmw Marmotor 26 Aniversario Club la Calzada in Gran Canaria will be played at the “Club la Calzada” venue, which will also host the FIP Silver Gran Canaria. Alvaro Abad Diaz and Rafael Reyes Moreno lead the Under 18 men’s draw. The main rival pairs are Daniel Sardina Serrano–Jose Manuel Lillo Albertos and Sergio Tomas Coello Gonzalez–Jorge Garcia Ferreiro. Among the favourites for the Under 16 women’s main draw title are Carmen Ibañez Diaz–Marta Ortiz Montoya.

 

At the other Spanish stage, in Mérida, the Under 18 women’s title will be contested between Claudia Iniesta Sanchez–Paula Navas Benito and Leire Flores SantanaLaura Moreno Amor. On the courts of “CD Padelmerida”, the leading contenders for the Under 16 and Under 14 boys’ titles are Mario Brocal Aviles–Jaime Rodriguez and Adrian Gonzalez–Marcos Ciraqui Conesa, respectively.

 

In Trani, the NextGen will feature four boys’ draws. At the top of the Under 18 main draw are Luca Maria Laguzza and Gabriele Laurino, while Raffaele Tatullo and Giovanni Salvatore Manduca lead the Under 16 category. Alessandro Cullari–Michele Lavecchia and Francesco Memola–Andrea Micillo are among the pairs that could claim victory in the Under 14 age group.

 

In Vilamoura, the contest for the Under 16 boys’ title will feature the top seeds Hugo Navarro Murillo and Marcos Nanez Gomez against Joao Afondo Simoes–Diogo Oliveira. Diana Simoes–Julia Carrillo Espejo and Iris Pina–Matilde Marques Cruz are among the pairs competing in the Under 16 girls’ event. This weekend in Portugal will also host the FIP Silver in Leiria.

 

At the Promises FIP Tour stage in South Africa, eight draws will be played: Under 12, 14, 16 and 18 for both boys and girls. The favourites in the oldest boys’ category are Wasim Tayob and Mohammed Hasnain Bhojani, while in the corresponding girls’ category, the top seeds Caterina Frazzita–Imaan Valli and the pair Aaliyah Hartnick–Tasiyah Gani are among the leading contenders.
