Day4. Dal Pozzo keeps dreaming: an Italian player reaches the semi-finals in Italy. Brea and Triay await on Saturday

One page of history each day. Giulia Dal Pozzo had already become the first Italian player to reach the quarter-finals of a Major, but she was not satisfied. Partnering Nuria Rodriguez, the Italian continued her remarkable run. Against the No. 4 seeds at the BNL Italy Major Premier Padel, Claudia Fernandez and Sofia Araujo, Dal Pozzo and Rodriguez came back from a set down to win 3-6 6-3 6-2. Tomorrow, on Centre Court, they will face the No. 1 seeds and defending champions Delfi Brea and Gemma Triay in the match that opens the semi-final programme at 1 p.m. Brea and Triay recovered from a difficult start to defeat Tamara Icardo and Claudia Jensen 3-6 6-4 6-3 in 2 hours and 56 minutes. Three sets were also required in the afternoon for Paula Josemaria and Bea Gonzalez, who secured their 22nd consecutive victory with a 6-2 2-6 6-3 win over Marta Ortega and Martina Calvo. Standing between Josemaria and Gonzalez and a place in the final will be Ari Sanchez and Andrea Ustero, who won the most one-sided quarter-final of the day 6-1 6-2 against Marta Barrera and Jimena Velasco. Their semi-final is scheduled not before 6 p.m.

MEN Three of the top four seeded pairs have also reached the semi-finals in the men’s draw. The only exception is Momo Gonzalez and Lucas Campagnolo, who followed up their round-of-16 victory over Franco Stupaczuk and Mike Yanguas by defeating Paquito Navarro and Martin Di Nenno 6-3 6-3. The Spaniard and the Brazilian now face a major challenge against Arturo Coello and Agustin Tapia, who advanced with a 6-3 7-6 win over Javi Garrido and Lucas Bergamini. In the bottom half of the draw, the champions of the inaugural edition of the BNL Italy Major Premier Padel will meet: Ale Galan and Federico Chingotto needed just 46 minutes to defeat Pol Hernandez and Guille Collado 6-3 6-1, while Juan Lebron and Leo Augsburger overcame Coki Nieto and Jon Sanz 6-4 7-6, also in straight sets.
