Day5. Dream week continues for Icardo and Jensen: Tamara and Claudia reach the final. France gets another ‘Clásico’

A dream week that is not over yet. Tamara Icardo and Claudia Jensen continue to impress and, thanks to a straight-sets victory over Paula Josemaria and Bea Gonzalez (6-4 6-3), will play for the Betclic Premier Padel Bordeaux P2 title on Sunday. It is not the first Premier Padel final for either player, but both return to this stage after a long wait: Icardo had not reached a final since the Malaga P1 last year, while Jensen’s previous appearance came at the Acapulco P1 in 2024. Jensen lifted the trophy there alongside Jessica Castelló, while Icardo is chasing the first Premier Padel title of her career. The No. 5 seeds will now face the top seeds, Delfi Brea and Gemma Triay, who secured their place in the final with a 7-5 6-1 victory over Ari Sanchez and Andrea Ustero, earning the chance to claim their fourth title of the season after Gijon, Cancun and Rome.

 

MEN While the women’s final, scheduled for 14:00 CEST, will be a first-time meeting, the men’s final, not before 15:30, will once again feature the sport’s great rivalry between Arturo Coello, Agustin Tapia, Fede Chingotto and Ale Galan. The top two seeds will contest the title for the sixth consecutive tournament, following Asuncion, Buenos Aires, Rome, Valencia and Valladolid. It will be the 38th meeting between the two pairs that continue to dominate world padel, with Coello and Tapia leading the head-to-head 24-13. Chingotto and Galan booked their place in the final with two 7-5 sets against Franco Stupaczuk and Mike Yanguas, before Coello and Tapia ended the otherwise positive week of Paquito Navarro and Martin Di Nenno with a 6-3 6-2 victory.
