Melendez-Fernandez set sights on another title in Rovato

From Dublin to Rovato, Italy, in search of another title. Pedro Melendez and Pincho Fernandez are ready to challenge for another trophy after winning the FIP Silver last Sunday, this time at the FIP Bronze Hub 4.0, whose main draw gets underway on Friday. The No. 1 seeds lead a 32-pair men’s draw featuring Adrian Naranjo and Jaume Romera (2). The latter could potentially face Simone Cremona in the semi-finals, after reaching the FIP Bronze final in Georgia together two weeks ago, with Cremona now teaming up with Antonio Luque as the No. 3 seeds. Other Italian players in the draw include Lorenzo Di Giovanni, a veteran of the national team, while French talent Olivier Guy De Chamisso will compete alongside compatriot Manuel Vives after winning the FIP Promises Paris title last weekend.

Victoria Kurz will have a new partner in the women’s draw after her successful run in China and Indonesia with Marcella Koek. The German player will now compete alongside Anna Ortiz, with whom she leads the women’s draw. Behind them are Carla Mesa and young Matilde Minelli, who has just won silver with Italy at the FIP Junior Euro Padel Cup, while other Italian contenders include Emily Stellato with Clarissa Aima (3) and Giorgia Rosi with Paula Ferran (4).
