More than 600 pairs in action last week. African champions take the spotlight in Alexandria

With a record total of 624 pairs entered across the five FIP Promises tournaments held last weekend – from Paris to South Africa – the International Padel Federation’s Tour dedicated to the NextGen continues to demonstrate its steady growth. Among the events on the calendar was also the third stop of the season in Egypt, where the country’s top young talents took to the court in Alexandria.

 

Many of the young stars who led Egypt to a double triumph at the FIP Junior Africa Padel Cup in June were among the standout performers. In the three girls’ draws, Jaya Omar Youssef and Lily Wael both claimed two titles: Omar Youssef won the Under 14 title with Sama Salem and the Under 16 title together with Wael, who also triumphed in the Under 18 draw. In the boys’ competition, Mohamed El-Hamamy – also crowned continental champion a month ago – stood out with victory alongside Spain’s Martin Araguete Sales, while Ezz Hussein Hassan claimed the Under 14 title partnering Aley Eino. The FIP Promises Tour will return to Alexandria in August for the next event, scheduled from 19 to 22 August.
