Maier-Contreras aim to Shine in Chile. Puppo-Yob have their eyes on the title

The CUPRA FIP Tour returns to Chile, where the FIP Bronze Castro will take place this weekend. There are two pairs among the favourites for the title. They are the tournament’s No. 1 seeds, Luciano Puppo-Leonardo Yob, and the duo of Santino Contreras-Francisco Maier. Puppo has already won a title this year, triumphing at the FIP Silver in Joinville, Brazil, last week. Yob has also claimed a title on the circuit this season, doing so in Chile, where he won the FIP Bronze San Antonio at the beginning of February. Sixteen-year-old Contreras is enjoying a dream season: despite his young age, he has won four titles on the CUPRA FIP Tour this year (at the FIP Bronze Santamaria, Camboriu, Lanzarote and Ciudad Del Este). His partner Maier, meanwhile, is seeking his first title of the year. The two pairs are on opposite sides of the draw and can only meet in the final.

Also in the spotlight in Chile is the Argentine duo of Fabricio Ivan Peiron and Santiago Rolla. Alongside those already mentioned, there are other pairs aiming for a strong result, from Valentin Cilli-Manuel Gayone to Mateo Rivero-Agustin Esteban Silva, as well as Thiago Pinto-Joaquin De Astoreca. The main draw of the tournament will begin on Friday afternoon and conclude on Sunday 23, when the semi-finals and final will be played.
