NextGen lights up Marina di Ravenna: Vittoria Conti dominates on home soil

For a young player, achieving a double victory at a tournament is significant, but doing so in her home country makes it even more so. Vittoria Conti (pictured on the left), No. 3 in the Under 14 European Ranking, claimed the titles in the Under 14 and Under 16 categories at FIP Promises Heroe’s, held in Marina di Ravenna, Italy. In the younger age category, Conti partnered Marta La Carpia and became champion after defeating Elizabeth Vellacott and Rosie Allen in the final following a closely contested match that was decided by a super tie-break (6-1 4-6 10-6). In the Under 16 category, Conti triumphed alongside Costanza Vanni. After defeating Lavinia Cecconi and Matilda Del Monte in the semi-finals, the pair won the title match (6-3 6-0) against the same partnership that Conti had beaten in the Under 14 final: Elizabeth Vellacott and Rosie Allen. Conti has also won the FIP Promises Sanremo Padel Experience-Perugia II this year.

 

There was also plenty of action in the boys’ matches. In the Under 18 category, Gabriele Laurino and Stefano Indomenico claimed the title, conceding just 11 games throughout the tournament and not dropping a single set. In the semi-finals, Laurino and Indomenico defeated Camillo Bertuzzi and Paolo Lilli (6-4 6-2), while in the final they overcame Leon Oleatti and Francesco Cocco (6-2 6-1). The partnerships of Asier Mas Urkizu-Mikel Ibanez Gimenez and Lorenzo Lombardi-Alessandro Tramontano triumphed in the Under 16 and Under 14 categories respectively.
