Perino and Fernandez Lancha make their mark in Westerbork: “Now we keep pushing”

Just one set dropped throughout the tournament and an understanding that immediately produced results. Andres Fernandez Lancha and Denis Perino celebrate victory at the FIP Bronze in Westerbork, the Netherlands, in their first tournament as a pair. In the final at Racketclub, the number 1 seeds defeated 18-year-old Javier Garcia Caro and Sergio Arias in two sets (6-5 7-6). A positive start for the winners, who now look ahead to their debut at the Madrid P1 against Enzo Jensen and David Gala — fresh from winning the gold medal at the Mediterranean Games — with an extra boost.

“Not a bad start, Denis,” Fernandez Lancha said after the victory. “Now we keep pushing and giving our best. We’re really looking forward to giving it everything in Madrid.” “Very happy to have started like this with Andres,” echoed Perino. “Now we’re ready for our debut on Tuesday at the Madrid P1.” For the Spaniard, this is his fifth title on the CUPRA FIP Tour, while Perino moves up to seven titles overall.
