Araujo-Graça and their feeling with Portugal: victory at Cristiano Ronaldo’s club
September 14, 2026
A weekend to remember for the Portuguese pairing of Pedro Araujo and Pedro Graça, who were crowned champions of the FIP Silver Lisboa Padel Racket Centre by Ava CR7, held at the Lisbon club of football legend Cristiano Ronaldo. After defeating Dani Luna and Iago Fuertes in the semi-finals following a closely contested match decided only in a third-set tie-break (7-6 3-6 7-6), the two Portuguese players overcame Marco Cassetta and Fabian Oviedo in the final (6-3 6-7 6-2). Araujo and Graça confirmed their strong affinity with Portugal: this year, they had already triumphed at the FIP Bronze events in Madeira and Portimao. Araujo is enjoying an outstanding period: together with his sister Sofia, he won the gold medal in the mixed category at the Mediterranean Games at the end of August.
“It had been a long time since we had been chasing a title like this, and being able to win it at home is truly special,” said Araujo. “I could not be happier with this great team. Special thanks to everyone who supported us and who, over the past few days, filled the stands of this incredible stadium. I have no doubt that they were a fundamental part of a week I will never forget.”
In the women’s draw, Spaniards Marisol Fernandez and Cristina Carrascosa celebrated victory after defeating Giorgia Rosi-Paula Ferran in the final: after losing the first set, the champions responded by winning the final two sets convincingly (2-6 6-2 6-2). In the semi-finals, they had defeated home player Catarina Santos and Spaniard Carmen Azcoitia (6-3 4-6 6-1). In Lisbon, Fernandez and Carrascosa claimed their second title of the year as a pairing, following their victory at FIP Bronze Sassauolo. “Champions of FIP Silver Lisbon,” said Fernandez. “I am proud and very happy with the level we showed. Cristina, you are truly the best.”
