Fernandez seeks glory in Tunisia: victory would secure a fifth title of the season

TUNISIA – After three victories in 2026, achieved on three different continents, Antonio ‘Pincho’ Fernandez will look to claim his fourth title of the year at FIP Bronze Tunisia I. The Spaniard has already triumphed in Europe (FIP Silver Dublin), Asia (FIP Silver Kuala Lumpur) and the Americas (FIP Silver McAllen) this year. A victory in Africa would extend his list of titles even further. Fernandez will partner Facundo Dominguez in Tunisia, with the pair seeded No. 1. Also in the spotlight at the African stop on the circuit are Pedro Melendez-Dani Luna (2) and Guillem Figuerola-Roberto Belmont (3). The field also includes the pairing of Portuguese player Gustavo Nunes and Spaniard Tonet Sans (4).

Leading the women’s draw is Spaniard Barbara Las Heras, who will partner Daria Kucheriavaia. The No. 1 seeds are in the top half of the draw alongside Tunisian Dora Chamli, who will partner Argentina’s Maria Laura Ferreyra (3). In the opposite half are the No. 2 seeds, Melania Merino and home player Ferdaous Bahri, and the Alba Perez-Sarah Lisa Aubertin pairing (4). The main draw of this tournament will begin on Friday 25 September and conclude on Sunday 27, when the semi-finals and finals will be played.
