Puppo, Yob, Maier and the others: argentine players take centre stage in Viña del Mar

VIÑA DEL MAR – The Chilean stop of the CUPRA FIP Tour in Viña del Mar will feature Argentine talent as the main protagonists. All 16 players making up the top eight seeds come from Argentina. Leading the draw are Juampi Dametto and Luciano Puppo, with Puppo having won the FIP Silver Joinville in March. Dametto, meanwhile, has already shown an exceptional affinity with Chile in 2026: at the end of May, he triumphed at a FIP Bronze event in Viña del Mar, while in July he became champion at FIP Bronze Copiapo. The No. 2 seeds at this CUPRA FIP Tour event are Leonardo Yob, winner this year of FIP Bronze San Antonio (Chile) and Asuncion (Paraguay), and Francisco Maier, who in August won FIP Bronze Castro with Santino Contreras. Also in the spotlight are Maximo Maldonado-Alan Hurtado and Mauricio Rivero-Manu Gayone.

The main draw will also feature 12 Chilean pairs, for a total of 29 home players in the competition. The main draw of this tournament will begin on Friday 25 September and conclude on Sunday 27 September, when the semi-finals and final will be played.
