Libaak-Alfonso show their strength: second title together comes in Budapest

BUDAPEST – Tournament victory, just one set conceded to their opponents and a second title together. Gonza Alfonso and Tino Libaak, No. 26 and 35 respectively in the FIP Ranking, claimed the FIP Silver Budapest Open II title with a convincing two-set victory (6-2 6-1) in the final against Marc Quilez-Federico Mourino. For the Argentine duo, this success comes after their previous title together in Italy in August, at the FIP Silver Porto Sant’Elpidio. At the beginning of September, Alfonso and Libaak also competed at the prestigious Paris Major Premier Padel, where they reached the last 32. In March, Alfonso reached a Premier Padel semi-final at the P2 in Cancun, where, playing alongside legend Sanyo Gutierrez, he lost to Juan Lebron and Leo Augsburger.

In the women’s draw, third seeds Marta Caparros-Sofia Saiz triumphed. After defeating Alix Collombon-Ksenia Sharifova in the semi-finals at the end of a closely contested match (4-6 6-4 7-5), the Spanish pair overcame Marta Borrero and Teresa Navarro in the final (6-1 6-4). Caparros, No. 41 in the world, has won three titles on the CUPRA FIP Tour in 2026, all of them FIP Silver events (Abidjan, Westerbork and Cordoba). Saiz, also No. 40 in the FIP Ranking, was the FIP Silver Oeiras and FIP Bronze Mallorca champion this season.
