Virseda and Fassio secure a double: celebrating in Stratford after Perugia

STRATFORD – One week after winning the prestigious FIP Gold Perugia, Martina Fassio and Veronica Virseda claimed another title at the FIP Silver R3 Bullpadel Cup Stratford. After defeating Martina Vera and Ana Varo in the semi-finals, the pair overcame Italian duo Emily Stellato and Giulia Sussarello in the final, winning 6-2, 6-0. In 2026, Virseda has also won two other CUPRA FIP Tour events, the FIP Platinum tournaments in Albania and Paredes. “FIP Silver Stratford champions,” Fassio said. “Let’s keep it going as a team!”.

In the men’s draw, Javi Barahona, a finalist in Perugia, claimed the title in a major victory. Partnering Nacho Piotto, he secured the trophy in Great Britain with a 7-6, 6-3 win over Álvaro Cepero and Andrés Fernández Lancha in the final. In the semi-finals, the pair had defeated Curro Cabeza and Paraguayan player Mariano González. “Champions!” Barahona said. “Great week, Nacho, but there’s no time to celebrate: we start again today.” Piotto also commented on the victory: “This is the right path to follow. Now we turn our attention to Milan, with some great tournaments coming up.”
