A pair that continues to grow and impress, competing strongly against more experienced opponents. Pol Hernandez and Guille Collado secured another success on the CUPRA FIP Tour after the three titles won last season. This time the victory came at the FIP Silver Dubai, with an outstanding performance in the final (6-1 6-3) against the top seeds, Javi Garrido and Lucas Bergamini. The two Spaniards thus completed an almost perfect week, dropping only one set in the quarter-finals against Sergio Icardo and Fran Jurado. “A very long week, with wins in extremely tough matches where we managed to compete at our best at every moment,” said Collado after the victory. “Pol, you are playing at a very high level, we must continue on this path.” His partner echoed the sentiment: “Excellent feelings after beating very strong pairs of the highest level. It is impressive how you are playing, Guille.”

There was further confirmation in the women’s tournament, where Teresa Navarro and Virginia Riera claimed their second title of February after the FIP Bronze in Bahrain. They defeated Giorgia Marchetti and Lea Godallier in the final (6-2 6-3), who nevertheless completed an excellent tournament. “I am truly very happy. Thanks to the whole team, Virginia thank you for this wonderful week,” said Navarro after the title. “Very happy for this victory and for the matches we managed to win. A tournament that gives us great confidence,” added Riera.
