Chile, De Pascual and Lopez aim to take the Santiago throne
April 24, 2026
The CUPRA FIP Tour returns to the city of Santiago with the men’s FIP Bronze Chile II. Leading the draw are Facundo Lopez and Juani De Pascual, both born in 2004. Lopez is seeking his first title of the year on this circuit, while De Pascual arrives following his victory at the FIP Bronze in Ijuí, Brazil, held last week. De Pascual has also triumphed this season at the FIP Bronze events in Burriana, Spain, and Agrigento, Italy. The main challengers to the tournament’s top seeds are Luciano Puppo and Maximo Maldonado, winners in March of the FIP Silver event in Joinville, Brazil. These two pairs are placed in opposite sections of the main draw and can only meet should they both reach the final.
Among the entrants are also two players aiming to make amends after their defeat in May last year, again in Chile, in the final of the FIP Bronze in Viña del Mar against Federico Mouriño and Antonio “Pincho” Fernandez: Manuel Gayone and Axel William Guevara. This time, the pair are targeting the title. Another competitive duo with ambitions of victory is Leonardo Yob, winner this year of the FIP Bronze in San Antonio, Chile, alongside Francisco Maier, born in 2006. The men’s draw also features Cristobal Martinez-Pablo Molina Tofanelli and Joaquín De Astoreca-Thiago Pinto. All matches of the tournament will be played at the ‘Bsc-Sports’ venue.
