Chile, all the NextGen winners in Antofagasta

At the FIP Promises in Antofagasta, Chile, an event dedicated to the young talents of padel, a total of eight draws were contested. In the boys’ Under 18 category, Alonso Villavicencio Mancilla and Matias Jimenez Colombres were crowned champions. In the boys’ Under 16 category, Joaquin Alegria and Tomas Guzman claimed the title after defeating Benjamin Alejandro Delgado Leiva and Martin Gonzalez Giusto in a highly competitive final (6-2 6-7 10-7). Guzman and Alegria had previously defeated third seeds Manuel Jordi Fulla Silva and Gabriel Salazar Bravo in the semi-finals with a double 6-2 scoreline. The Under 14 title was won by Federico Salas Perez and Vitto Benvenutto.
In the girls’ draws, Esperenza Lamatta and Julieta Antonia Escalona Diaz became the Under 18 champions after defeating Aurora Paz Candia Gonzalez and Valentina Osorio Vallana in the final. The match was closely contested: after losing the opening set (3-6), the champions responded by winning the second set (6-3) and the super tie-break (10-6). The pairs Fernanda Abarca-Antonia Francisca Salomon De La Maza and Aurora Paz Candia Gonzalez-Javiera Carvajal lifted the trophies in the Under 14 and Under 16 categories respectively. This NextGen event in Antofagasta preceded the CUPRA FIP Tour tournament scheduled to take place in Chile from 26 to 31 May: the FIP Bronze Chile III.
