Zurita and Rivas aim to shine in France

Confirm they good results is the objective with which Nico Zurita and Samu Rivas arrive at the FIP Bronze Marnes in France. This year, the pair have already won the FIP Bronze Helsingborg in Sweden, where they defeated Marcos González Blanco and Víctor Mena in the final in three sets. They enter the tournament as favourites for the title, but attention must also be paid to potential surprises, above all the 2008-born duo of Juan Zamora and Alejandro Garcia. Also competing in the French stop of the CUPRA FIP Tour will be Spain’s Sergi Guimet and Portugal’s Joao Maria Caiano. The Dutch pair Mats and Kai Groen will also be one to watch. The main draw of the FIP Bronze Marnes will begin on Friday 22 May and conclude on Saturday 23 May. Matches will be played at the ‘Forest Hill Marnes La Coquette’ venue.

Leading the women’s draw are Marta Borrero, winner of the FIP Bronze Comunitat Valenciana alongside Ksenia Sharifova, and Italy’s Giorgia Marchetti, runner-up at the FIP Silver Kuala Lumpur together with Lea Godallier. The latter will also compete in France, her home tournament, partnering Lucia Peralta. Also aiming for the title are the winners of the FIP Bronze Burriana in Spain, Daiara Valenzuela and Maria Laura Ferreyra. The women’s field is highly competitive, with Camila Fassio and Aida Martinez, runner-up at the FIP Silver Bari in April, also targeting the title in Marnes. Fassio will arrive boosted by her victory last week at the first-ever edition of the FIP Bronze in Poland. Also in the spotlight in France is the Dutch player Marcella Koek alongside Alba Vazquez.
