A weekend in Tenerife and Coimbra for the champions of the future

A weekend between the Canary Islands and Portugal brings the NextGen’s July schedule to a close. Young padel talents head to the Spanish archipelago for the FIP Promises Los Realejos in Tenerife, where seven draws – boys’ and girls’, from Under 12 to Under 18 – will be played at Club Miramar from Friday onwards. More than 70 pairs have entered, representing Denmark, Senegal, Portugal, Italy, Austria, Belgium and Venezuela, as well as all over Spain.

Leading the way are Nicolas Aguirre Sanchez and Carlos Flores Peñate, the top pair in the Under 18 boys’ draw, while Isabel Martinez Blasco and Martina Garcia headline the Under 18 girls’ competition. Two Belgian talents top the Under 14 boys’ entry list: Nicolas Van Bremp and Gilles De Peuter are seeded ahead of Denmark’s Karl Emil Angermair and Marius Damgaard Bojesen. Another Danish pair – Lucas Ospina Roejskjaer and Viktor Bassett Jorgensen – will challenge favourites Daniel Yanguas Casares and Hugo Del Pino Lopez in the Under 12 boys’ event.

In Coimbra, Portugal, the spotlight turns to the home talents who impressed at the FIP Junior Euro Padel Cup, including Jose Afonso Ribeiro Da Silva and Joao Afonso Simoes in the Under 14 category, Afonso De Almeida Lacerda in the Under 16, and Fábio Da Costa Araújo in the Under 18. In the girls’ draws, Mar Galhardo is among the standout players in the Under 14 category. Six draws will be played at Star Padel from Friday to Sunday: four boys’ competitions (from Under 12 to Under 18) and two girls’ competitions (Under 14 and Under 16).
