Bali celebrates the NextGen champions and a new record number of pairs entered in an Asian FIP Promises Tour event
August 17, 2026
The Bali tournament was a great success, setting a historic record of 138 pairs entered for an Asian stage of the FIP Promises Tour (the previous record was held by FIP Promises Jakarta with 113 pairs). The young padel talents showcased their abilities across the eight draws (Under 12, 14, 16 and 18 for both boys and girls) at FIP Promises Bali Island Sports Holywings Padel Club. The outstanding participation at this event confirmed the expansion of padel across Asia and the sport’s ability to attract younger generations. Boys and girls from many countries travelled to Indonesia, including Italy, France, the Netherlands, Egypt and Kazakhstan.
The sporting highlight was the double triumph of Indonesian star Ratu Athena Putri in the Under 16 and Under 18 categories. In the former, partnering Johanna Nesya Rosejaya, she defeated Calia De Heyn and Namu Steenbakkers in the final (6-2 6-0), while in the older age group, alongside Kadek Nandini Oktavia Nandin, she beat Johanna Nesya Rosejaya-Kirani Asna Nurhidayati (6-4 7-6). Athena Putri is ranked first in the Asian FIP Promises Ranking in both the Under 16 and Under 18 categories.
The winners in the oldest boys’ age group were Bages Putrajati and Rafael Jose Soesilo who, after defeating Oliver Walter and Henry Covato in the semi-final (6-3 6-1), won the title against Tursynkhan Arnur and Islam Duissengazin following a closely contested match decided on the final point of the super tie-break (4-6 7-6 11-9). Arnur and Duissengazin subsequently bounced back by claiming the Under 16 title.
