Riera-Bidahorria targets the title in Houten after last week’s triumph in Nairobi

HOUTEN – Last weekend, the Argentine pairing of legend Virginia Riera and Julieta Bidahorria lifted the champions’ trophy at FIP Silver Nairobi. This week, they will look to make it back-to-back titles by also winning the FIP Silver in Houten, where they will be the No. 1 seeds. With their success in Kenya, Riera reached six titles this season, following victories at FIP Silver Manila, Dubai and Jersey Island, and at FIP Bronze Agrigento and Bahrain. Also in the spotlight at the Dutch stop on the CUPRA FIP Tour are Carla Fernandez-Nerea Guerra (2), Nati Lopez-Aida Martinez (3) and Sandra Bellver-Ana Dominguez (4). There is also strong interest in the Netherlands in the ‘Orange’ pairing of Bo Lutthikuis and Janine Hemmes: the home players will arrive at the tournament with the confidence of their victory last week at the FIP Silver held in Bangkok, Thailand.

The main draw at this CUPRA FIP Tour event will begin on Friday 25 September and conclude on Sunday 27, when the semi-finals and final will be played.
