Caldas da Rainha, Cravo’s dream season continues: three titles in a week

CALDAS DA RAINHA – After last week’s victory in Elda, Spain, with Eleana Bakker, Portuguese player Francisca Cravo claimed a double at FIP Promises Caldas da Rainha alongside Rosie Allen, winning the Under 14 and Under 16 titles. In both categories, they defeated the same pair in the final: Spaniards Patricia Murillo Prior-Violeta Oro Izquierdo. Cravo currently sits second in the FIP Promises Europe Ranking.

There was also plenty of action across the four boys’ categories at this FIP Promises Tour event. In the boys’ Under 18, Fabio Da Costa Araujo-Goncalo Costa Liberato, after overcoming the duo of Leon Ortega Ibanez-Leon David Ruiz Shannon in the semi-final following a closely contested match decided by a super tie-break, 7-5 4-6 10-5, defeated Tomas Castro and Pedro Ortigosa Martin in the title decider. In the Under 16 and Under 14 categories, the winning pairs were Vicente Soto Herrera-Sebastian Ferrer Reyes and Francisco Sa-Tiago Valente.
